Printer Prints Weird Characters

Why do things other than my printer print the document I want to print?
There are funny characters and lines between the words of the document … I tried to turn both my printer and computer, then on again, disconnect the two together, but it keeps happening! Printer more … It serves an excellent job. The crazy things just recently started to happen!
This happened to me with one of my old printers. I never could understand what was wrong and I had to get rid of.
